A quieter way to move and… breathe. Cultivating greater self-awareness in movement and thought.
Beth Daily is a certified Alexander Technique teacher and theatre educator based in southern New Hampshire, and the founder of Pathways to Ease. Whether performing on stage, managing chronic tension, navigating stress, or simply seeking more ease in daily life, Beth offers individual lessons, group classes, and workshops to help you move, breathe, and express yourself with greater freedom.
Are you curious about how the mind and body respond to stimuli? Would you like more ease and balance in your everyday activities? Discover how it feels to be grounded in body and mind, ready for anything the moment calls for. Changing our habitual patterns, we begin to restore our natural functioning through constructive thinking and mindful movement.
What is the Alexander Technique?
The Alexander Technique is a pathway for recognizing how we respond to the world through habitual patterns we have developed over time, and learning how to alleviate those reactions or habits which cause tension, anxiety, or pain. Lessons focus on reconditioning how you think and move through activities you're already doing: how you walk, stand, breathe, speak, or perform.
With the guidance of a trained teacher, you'll learn to recognize these patterns as they happen and gently restructure them, restoring a more natural freedom of movement, breath control, and poise. The teacher uses gentle touch and/or spoken guidance in a lesson and over time; this awareness becomes part of how you move through life — whether that's on stage, at your desk, or simply walking through your day with a little more ease. Movement, Breath, and the Art of Ease
Beth has always felt a kinship with the work of painter Paul Klee, whose figures seem to breathe, caught mid-motion, unguarded, alive. That same quality is at the heart of her teaching: the moment someone discovers freedom of movement, poise, and ease of action, whether they're a performer under stage lights or someone simply learning to carry themselves through the day with less effort. This is the essence of the Alexander Technique. Not a set of exercises, but a way of noticing how you move, breathe, and hold yourself, so that habitual tension gives way to something more natural. The images below, two by Klee and two from live performances, share that same spirit: bodies unbound, breath uncontained, movement used as authentic self-expression rather than exertion.
